When I was younger my mother used to say, “You can tell a lot about a person by their fridge.” This passing comment did not seem all that pertinent until I began to develop my own personal portfolio. When I faced myself with the question of how I wanted to represent myself creatively, my mother’s voice kept ringing in my ear, “You can tell a lot about a person by their fridge.”

I am a foodie by nature, and growing up in the Caribbean only made my love for food stronger. This concept also allowed me to make my creative space into an immersive experience.

When designing my metaphorical fridge, I wanted to make sure to leave hints of my personality through each part. To develop these pieces I had to think about the logistics behind a fridge and ask myself what does a fridge do, what do people do with their fridges, and what is recognizable about a fridge. Magnets were the first thing that came to mind. The magnets used are my island and my initials.
