Eternal Joy Collection
In 2021, the namesake of the brand, Joyia Jones, was diagnosed with tongue cancer and started her radiation journey. To reclaim this time in her life, she asked me to develop a collection that communicated the hidden beauty of her journey and her strength to push through. The design was based on the Fibonacci’s golden ratio spiral for its presence in nature and mathematical beauty. Each ray beaming off the spiral represented the lessons learned and her growth from this journey. For our customers, this collection was made to remind them of the joy in their lives and inspire them to appreciate every moment.

As a designer, I always start on paper to allow myself the freedom to explore every avenue of the concept. The page acts as a visual train of thought, mapping my journey as I travel between reference point to reference point. For this collection, the sketching process was both about design concept and production strategy. Considering the intricacy of the end product, it was important to build a production plan before pulling out the 14 karat gold and sterling silver!
